Strange Turns and Odd observations

Our First odd observation for the year comes in the form of VW1208 LK61 BMZ on the Route 7. This is vehicle is part of the batch of  12 VWs numbered from VW1205 - 1216 that were ordered for the Route 79 which was won by Metroline on 8th of April 2011 and running commenced on the 26th of November 2011. The route now runs from Perivale East Garage (PV).

I actually did predict that when these new vehicles come into service on the route 79, that PV controllers would give them a while to settle in on the route 79 before chucking them out on the Route 7 as it is the flagship Route for PV Garage and it seems my prediction was right as this is not the first reported working of one on the Route 7, coincidently sister Buses, VW1207 was also spotted on the Route 7 last week. Lets keep our eyes peeled for now. I must say seeing these top class vehicles on the Route 7 is a much welcomed change from the unpopular SEL class Scania N230UD Olympus Buses that are currently allocated to the route.

Do you think Metroline will get rid of the Scania N230UD Olympus at all?

Hi Jay, I agree, these are superb vehicles. Would be nice if Metroline could purchase these as standard. Whilst I've got your attention, when you make your time lapse video's, I assume you use computer software and increase the speed of playback. If so, by how much do you increase the speed? Does x5 or x6 sound good?

They really are excellent. Metroline have a further 64 on order for the Routes 43, 134 and W7.

Regarding the videos, I'll leave that one for Jack to answer mate, he's the video expert.

Jay.

Hi Peter

The videos are mine (I'm Jack Busman on your facebook freinds list)

I tend to keep adding the timelapse effect until the video is around 5 - 6 mins long, I then publish it and have a look how it is. Of course if it is too fast then you can make the changes as your require

Have you filmed a whole route or just a part. The longer the original recording the more timelapse I add but it really is up to you :)

If you upload a copy to YouTube and message me on here, the chatbox or facebook I can have a look for you :)

Jack

Thanks Jack, I haven't actually made a video of a route yet, but will do soon. Will try what you suggest and see what happens. I'll contact you via Facebook if I get any problems.

Who says the SEL's are unpopular? Personally when I lived in London (Westborne Grove area) I quite liked the SEL's and prefered them to the buses on the 23 etc.

It would seem to me that unpopular is the view of the author, not necessarily the view of the population as a whole.
