Strange turns and observations - [W/E - 03.08.2014]

VW1177 - LK11 CXM is seen here at Northolt on service on Route 90, just having completed its journey from Feltham.

The working is one of which that is few and far between, but when it does occur, there are often a flock of blurry pictures, that appear online due to the surprise. The vehicle is part of a large batch of VWs that were ordered and delivered in 2011, with fleet numbers ranging from 1175-1204, with the latter batch being delivered for the 297. Delivered for the 105 and 297, they were accompanied by a further 12 for the route 79 gain. However following the retention of the route 7 with its new VWHs, the SELs were earmarked as surplus, but with Holloway needing new buses, the decision was made to transfer 24 VWs to Holloway to aid the 43s conversion to VW operation as well as allow a few TEs to transfer to W as the 112 gets prepared to use the 6xx TAs when it gets taken over this Saturday.  At present the VW1207-1216 have transferred to Holloway with more set to follow as and when the SELs are refurbished for the 79 and 297.
